Some of the fine moments that have been caught in perpetuity on Google Street View in the past include flashing, urinating, stealing and even drug-dealing.  This has raised all sorts of invasion of privacy issues.

The photo above, however, is one of the most perplexing.  It appears to be a naked man climbing into or out of the trunk of a car.  Next to the car is an eerily cropped image of a sleeping/dead? dog and a bottle filled with some kind of fluid. The image was found after a recent launch of Google Street View in several German cities and it has since gone viral.  There has been no explanation so far as to what was really going on and Google has blurred out the image of the naked man.

Since it is fun to conjecture, I opt for the more cinematic and nefarious explanation.  What flashed through my head was a rising, young model who got conned by a cold-blooded killer’s fake identity as a fashion photographer.  Her body, having been transported in the trunk of the car, now lies buried in some dark and dense region of the Black Forest.  The killer proceeded to burn the bloody clothes he was wearing at the time of the murder in a trash barrel outside an abandoned warehouse.   At home, he stripped down in order to meticulously clean the inside of the trunk to remove any remaining blood and DNA evidence.

At the moment this photo was captured, he has spent at least an hour in the wipe down and his bored dog has fallen asleep in the driveway.  But like something out of a Dickens tale, the dog will eventually be the key to solving the mystery because besides the killer, Fido is the only other living creature who knows where the body is buried.

Well, my story is not very likely because would a killer who is so careful about getting rid of evidence really be cleaning his car naked in plain view during the day?

I know there a lot of creative types out there following the yomyomf blog, so I would like to hear your theories.  I imagine there are some humorous takes on what is going on, some sinister and some not.  Is this guy a criminal or a victim?  Is this a prank?  What’s your take?
