Leave it to our Japanese friends to once again come up with the newest and weirdest sexual fetish that you didn’t know existed. This time it’s kaopan, which literally translates to “face panties.”

And as you can see from the pic above and those below, it’s exactly what the name promises: women (and if these images are any indication—schoolgirls specifically) with panties draped over their faces.

Apparently, this trend can be traced to a Japanese superhero named Hentai Kamen who is slated to star in a live-action feature film scheduled to be released in April.

But knowing the Japanese’s passion for all things perversely interesting, I’m pretty sure this would’ve been a thing—Hentai Kamen or no Hentai Kamen. So check out some more pics:
