Add Your Own Caption: “Luke, I am your Dog Walker” Edition

  • March 16, 2012 9:33 pm

If you’re not already following us on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, you’re missing out on a lot of extras you won’t find here on our blog including updates on various Offender-related projects (like the most recent updates about our upcoming YOMYOMF Network on YouTube) and silly, fun things like “Add Your Own Caption.” This is where we post an image we find online or that our readers forward to us and ask you to write an appropriate caption to accompany that image. And we’ll feature some of the captions here.

And the featured caption for this week comes from reader Dc Wolfe:

Imperial Walker

So check out our Facebook page for future editions of “Add Your Own Caption”, write your own caption and/or “like” the ones you think are worthy and we may share them here.

More Christmas Gift Ideas: Boba Fett Hoodie

  • November 23, 2011 12:01 am

Black Friday is this week and the Christmas shopping season will “officially” commence (though it seems like it unofficially commenced back in July) so time for more holiday gift suggestions. My fellow Offender Anderson already suggested something earlier this week for all you pizza/camping aficionados. Today, something for the geeks:

It’s the new and improved Boba Fett hoodie (yes, I didn’t know there was an older version either).

And if the Boba Fett hoodie is not to your liking, check out these other ones:

5 Asian Americans who seemed cool but turned out to be Assholes

  • February 16, 2011 12:01 am

Yup, today I look at some Asian Americans who at first seemed cool and down with it, only to later reveal their assholeness. Here are 5 of them in no particular order:

1) M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN

I’m not including the Indian American director/writer of such films as The Sixth Sense and The Village here because he outraged the Asian American community last year with his whitewashed live-action version of The Last Airbender. Frankly, I wouldn’t care less if he had cast green Martians—the movie would’ve still sucked. I’m also not including him here because his recent movies have, well, sucked. After an impressive start with The Sixth Sense, it’s been diminishing returns with his last four films being almost unwatchable. No, I’m including him here because he seems to be the only one on the planet who is unaware of how far his name/brand has fallen and still acts as if he’s the second coming of Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock and God rolled into one. Never mind that last fall’s Shaymalan-produced Devil was roundly jeered simply because his name was on the credits and subsequently bombed at the box office. I think there’s still a talented filmmaker in there somewhere if he can just let go of his ego and stop believing his own hype.

Pint-Size Darth Vader

  • February 5, 2011 1:46 pm

Hey, it’s the weekend! This was passed along to me on Facebook and I just wanted to share it with all you Offenders out there. A pint-size Darth Vader trying to wield the Force until he meets his match with the family car. YouTube Preview Image It’s really charming. Apparently, this VW commercial is the one making a lot of noise as the best Superbowl ad right now. I dig it.

In fact, this is not the only time where the venerable Sith Lord has served as a spokesman hawking products. In Japan, Darth Vader is part of a cell phone campaign for DoCoMo, luring iPhone users away to for the Android platform. YouTube Preview Image Weird. I don’t know who were the ad wizards who came up with this one, but hey, it’s Japan, right?

What does BP stand for?

  • June 2, 2010 12:10 am

My husband started a new game on facebook that I thought I’d share: “What does BP stand for?” So far, we’ve got:

Bungled Plugjob
Banish Petroleum
Better Plugit
Barack’s Problem
Beyond Pathetic
Buy a Prius

What do you think BP stands for?

Remember Sarah Palin’s campaign motto of “Drill Baby Drill”? So what’s her response to the catastrophic oil spill? Essentially, it’s “Don’t trust foreign oil companies.” Yup, that’s what she says on her twitter account. It’s not the offshore drilling itself, it’s those nasty British.  And never mind that her husband worked for BP for 18 years.

Darth Vader vs. Japanese Cops

A video from our Japanese friends to help you get through a lazy Sunday. May the force be with you!
