Last year, YOMYOMF hosted a NEW MEDIA ACADEMY panel at the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF). We had the likes of Chester See, Kevin Wu and Nikki Soohoo from JON DAVIS GETS A SEX ROBOT.  It was a lot of fun but we got feedback (mostly from younger audience members attending) that they wished there was more interaction with the panelists.

Therefore, for this upcoming HIFF (October 10 – 20), we are launching THE NEW MEDIA CAMP (NMC), a 4-day intensive video workshop (October 17 – 20, specifically), where 6 participants will get hands-on guidance and expertise from professionals in the new media world ranging from successful YouTube partners and content producers, working filmmakers in traditional media, social media experts, and Hollywood actors who will assist in honing your craft in the production of a 3 minute video that will be presented on the final day of the workshop at the Regal Dole Cannery Stadium 18. The goal of the NMC is to align fans and emerging media-makers with their mentors and learn the tricks of the trade of becoming a successful New Media producer or personality. At the conclusion of the NMC, HIFF will select the two videos we consider to be the best to post on director Justin Lin’s (FAST & FURIOUS franchise) YOMYOMF Network YouTube channel and the remaining four videos will be posted on HIFF’s YouTube channel.

So, we’ve launched an OPEN CALL FOR ENTRIES and are seeking young, energetic and self-motivated media-makers who would be interested to be 1 of 6 participants in this exclusive 4-day workshop! You have to be at least 14 years of age, a Hawaii resident, and be ready to submit an example of your work and your script or treatment on why you should be chosen!
