I use to think that about what people around me could help me…100% of the time the results never served me,  as a person, in business, in life.  Disappointment always lead to anger and closed off eyes to the new.  Once I made the mental shift to how I may contribute to the lives of the people around me the surprising result was the people around me appeared to be a wealth of knowledge that contributed to growth personally, business, and an overall healthier way of life.

Being on location on a film is somewhat different than working at home.  The biggest being time.  Time can be a enemy or can be your best friend.  In LA there is never enough time.  On location there is too much time.  Too much time to waste with the trappings that the world in the movie business presents.  However, time can be a tool to sit down with amazing people from all over the world that are passionate about what they do.  More than not the folks that make up a movie crew are there because they are so deeply in love with what they do.   With this as a motivation there is always something to learn from these people.

This is a lesson I learned the other day. “do you know how fleas are trained for a flea circus?”  They are put in a jar, they jump and jump trying to get out.  They eventually tire out and stop jumping.  You can leave the jar open from then on, the flea will never jump out again.  They simply give up.  In many ways people are the same way.  We stop jumping out of our metaphoric jar. Even when the lid is open.”  Pretty cool lesson.

OK Adios good people.
