On July 4, The Restroom Cultural Park a.k.a. the world’s first toilet themed park opened in Suwon, South Korea. Among the park’s attractions include exhibits of various toilets from throughout history, including a flushing toilet that was supposedly invented by Koreans 1,000 years ago, and lots of bronze statues of people enjoying their bowel movements.

And what is the story behind this new attraction? The late mayor of Suwon was apparently obsessed with improving the conditions of Korea’s public toilets which garnered him the nickname of Mr. Toilet. Back in 2007, he even had a house erected in the shape of a giant toilet:
