I date a Chinese American guy who is: super laid back, just sold his Lotus because...eh, we don't drive it enough (has beater Miata), wears VFFs and the same Tad Gear hoodie daily, eats whatever I make with no complaints, cuts costs ALWAYS, addicted to Jeopardy and CARS. Love his laid back nature and I can deal with the constant car talk. Word to the wise...date an older woman who has made her own money and is not so materialistic and self-absorbed. She's pretty, but I think you've over-glamorized them. I've been to Korea several times and not all the girls are great, in fact the opposite. Once you get over the "exotic asian" idea you start to see just like everyone else, and they're not expecially pretty really. They have nice legs and no chests, and dress accordingly. They whine a lot, and I mean a lot!!! They are OBSESSED with their appearance and have MAJOR self confidence issues, which leads to insecure and psychotic behavior. They put all their value in how they look - basically they are expected to look like perpetual teenagers - it's weird, like the men are attracted to little girls. The girls not only try to look 12 years old, but they ACT that way too - because it's apparently considered "cute" with these insecure Asian men. So the women are expected to be 18 (at a stretch) and pretty and skinny all their lives, and the requirement on men is just to be rich. Hence, the girls end up as crazy gold diggers looking for the best BRAND (very important) of everything and the men just go looking for the youngest looking girls they can ?*$%. Also, since they inevitably have to get older, their marriages don't last as she looses that kiddie look, the marriage is based on nothing else for the guy, and there is a fresh supply of younger gold diggers. So divorce is rampant. Result - all the women develop complexes about aging and go surgery mad trying to stop the inevitable ... not to mention that they notice and comment EVERY little imperfection about each other and give each other massive complexes. Some of them are just weird - eg "Your face is too big", or "Your forehead is flat". Wtf?!! I've pointed the bad of course - they have many wonderful qualities too, and can be great partners, BUT honestly I've learned something - you are better to stick with your own kind, and if you have a culture, stick to that. It's not supposed to be a racist comment. I've had a few inter-racial relationships and while they're manageable you just invite a boat load of problems to deal with. Any relationship can be stressful and will have problems. If you go international - expect all those problems PLUS all the inter-cultural/racial problems on top of them. I know I've offended lots of people here but hopefully I saved more than I hurt. As for them not putting out on the first date, that's a too general many of them do absolutely. If you saw the meaning of a night club there, or the purpose of the cheap hostels all over the place, you'd understand that actually putting out is not always the holy grail for them. She seems genuine and I havent had any of the issues from the article. She likes hanging out and doing stuff for me. She wants sex from me 24/7 and it doesnt cost me a dime. So maybe instead of generalizing people try meeting one and find out for yourself. So far things are great. Anyone else with the same experience as mine? Would like to hear about it.
