There’s a new series that just started called yae no Sakura about a woman who learns to use a rifle in 1868.
Also in a quick Japanese search, I hit a woman named koto Nakagawa from the bakumatsu era.
Someone told me that that woman was called Tomoe Gozen. Epic story, I was told.
