I day dream about winning the lottery. I’ve been interested in the idea of a life change for one dollar. Yeah, one dollar to jump tax brackets. One dollar to be RICH! But wait a second… Have you ever met anyone that won more than 5bucks off some scratch it ticket? I mean where are the real winners? It’s almost like Santa, you hear a lot about him but it’s up to you to believe if he’s real or not.
In the mornings when I shop for stuff for the restaurant I see people buy their lottery tickets and imagine what they would do with 69 million dollars. What would you do first? After I pay off debt, I guess I would buy a pair of really overly priced and overly warm house slippers. Other than that I don’t have much else I need or want.
What would you do with 69million?
I would buy out an entire cruise ship. 14 day trip from Monte Carlo, down the boot of italy and through out the greek islands.
Set a date one year from now (or when best weather is).
Send out an evite to my closest friends. They have to pay nothing.
All they have to do is show up at LAX on the said date and I’d have chartered Boeing Business Jets waiting so we can caravan to France!
I think about it too. Such a simple thing, right? One dollar… and why shouldn’t it happen to me? But so many millions of other people are thinking the same things. But I do think about it…
I would…
– pay off those debts…
– find/establish a home…
– a nice & reasonable car (or two)…
– set up 1) a trust to provide for emergencies and 2) some kind of annuity that would provide monthly…
– travel a little, all those places I itch to see
and then follow the same outline for as many of my closest friends & family that I can.

I second the cruise idea and would take my 94 year old grandma to China and Southeast Asia. I’d give her own personal chef and maid though she probably would end up firing everyone and doing it all herself anyways which I believe is one of the reasons why she still runs at the level of someone 20 years her junior.
I’d spend $69,000,000 very slowly throughout my lifetime. And swear off all girls, since every one of them will be a gold digger.
By the way, why that amount? Is that the current Powerball figure?
I think I’ll need to write a separate blog post to fully answer this question but I have played the CA lotto four times in my life and won three of those times but only small amounts of $1000-5000 but damn if it didn’t help me out during school.
I’d do something like R and E, but I’d buy a whole damn island. Name it for myself, Kuniland, Darrell’s Dot, something like that. Guywan, Easter Egg Island, an egg hunt every day, the No Faultlands Islands, sure England would sell them at this point — maybe just make one off the coast of California, make it of recycled materials. But real high, since oceans are rising…and restrict access: no Clipper, Angel nor USC fans. In fact, personal navy will shoot on sight.
I’ve thought about this question many, many times.
I’d buy a modest condo in each of the cities I’d most like to live in — NY, SF, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Honolulu, London, Berlin, and Amsterdam, why not.
I’d set aside some dough for each of my kids and family members but like Warren Buffet said, “Give them enough to do anything, but not enough to do nothing.”
Then I’d donate the rest to causes I believed in like the environment, aid for Africa, nuclear disarmament, and API films!
Oh, and I’d assemble a team of ninjas to uncover so much shit on Limbaugh, Hannity, and the other right wing anusfaces that neither they nor their extended family would ever be seen in public again.
Buy at least one house/apartment I love, invest and… try to get North Korea to open up the railway so I can finally take that transcontinental train trip from Seoul to St. Petersburg (and maybe even Scandinavia) by way of Shineuiju – without having to take a plane to Beijing or Ulan Bator as if S. Korea were an island and not actually on a peninsula connected to a continent connected to another continent.

I would pay off my debts and then I dont know what else I would do. I have everything I need. Maybe college fund for my kids or put money up for them

Well Of course I would pay my own debts… And then I would pay my moms and dads debts too…so they would not have to stress about those…
Hmm… I propably would buy something that I have always wanted to it cost too much… dont know what..
I would travel…etc etc… and of course but a lot of it to a banck account.
