Starting in January, Hong Kong will begin offering wedding packages at McDonald’s. Yup, you can soon get married under the Golden Arches and the watchful gaze of Ronald McDonald and company.
According to McDonald’s Hong Kong director of communications and relations Helen Cheung, the idea for the McDonald’s wedding packages (they will also do engagement and anniversary parties) came from one couple that met and dated at one of the local McDonald’s and held their wedding party there.
For just a few thousand Hong Kong dollars (which is quite the bargain), you can get everything from a baked apple pie wedding cake to a dress made out of balloons.
If the idea catches on, McWeddings may become standard at other McDonald’s locations throughout the world. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. For one, this will break the stereotype that only white trash folks get married at McDonald’s.
And for those of you snooty types who may thumb their noses at the idea of holding a McWedding, I am here to tell you that McDonald’s is one of the most romantic locations in the world. I can personally attest to this.
Back when I was a horny broke teen, I somehow managed to snag a date with one of the prettiest girls in school. I wanted to impress her, but since I had no money, my options were limited. But the one thing I did have were plenty of friends who worked at McDonald’s.
So I devised a plan where I would take this girl out to dinner at McDonald’s. But I got the McDonald’s crew to help me make the occasion more special. I borrowed the best tablecloth, serving dishes, cloth napkins and silverware I could find and had the crew deck out one of the corner booths to make it look as nice as any table at a fancy restaurant. There were candles and roses. I bribed a couple of the orchestra kids to show up in their tuxedos and serenade us on violin while we ate. The food was brought out in these beautiful polished silver trays by McDonald’s employees in bow ties who spoke with fake French accents. The evening was topped off with a dessert of apple pie while some of the employees sang The Association’s “Cherish” accompanied by violin, our table illuminated only by candlelight.
I wasn’t sure how the evening would turn out, but it ended up being one of my most romantic and awesome dates! So if McDonald’s is good enough for that, it’s good enough for a wedding.
And if you don’t want to take my word for it, just ask Ronald McDonald. Hmm…where is he? I saw him around here somewhere. Ronald, where are you, buddy? Oh, here he is:
Oops, looks like he’s busy. I guess first dates and weddings aren’t the only “romantic” events that go down take place at McDonald’s.

Dude, Mcdonalds didn’t make your date romantic. You did….:)
Mc donald rules leave it out
