By now you may have heard that Muslim American activists are outraged by a new children’s coloring book entitled We Shall Never Forget 9/11: The Kids’ Book of Freedom, which they say promotes an anti-Muslim agenda and is inappropriate for children by pointing to examples like this image depicting the assassination of Osama Bin Laden:

And the picture’s accompanying text: “Children, the truth is, these terrorist acts were done by freedom-hating radical Islamic Muslim extremists. These crazy people hate the American way of life because we are FREE and our society is FREE.”

The 36-page book allegedly includes the term “radical Islamic Muslim extremists” at least ten times and includes other potentially troubling statements such as:

“‘They’ also will never forget. Yes, they know of whom ‘they’ are. Given the chance, ‘they’ would do it again” and “Some Muslim people believe the attacks were a conspiracy caused by Jews.”

But the book’s publisher Wayne Bell counters that his sole intention was to present “a respectful graphic representation of the events of the day” and that the book is an “honest” account of the facts and not an anti-Muslim work. Here’s more on the debate:

The first run of 10,000 copies is all sold out and with the tenth anniversary of 9/11 just days away, the controversy’s bound to grow. So what do people think? Does this seem like the accurate historical document that the publishers are claiming it to be it or is it racist propaganda crap? Chinky or not chinky?
