Harv’s Metro Car Wash in Sacramento received a visit last week from two intimidating, dark-suited IRS agents demanding payment of delinquent back taxes. “They were deadly serious, very aggressive, very condescending,” Aaron Zeff, Harv’s owner, told the Sacramento Bee.
The amount that Zeff owed Uncle Sam…4 cents.
However, because of a combination of penalties and taxes on the 4 cents, the additional interest he owes on this amount has somehow ballooned to $202.31. More inexplicable because Zeff received a letter from the IRS last October stating that all his outstanding balances had been taken care of.
“It’s hilarious,” he says, “that two people hopped in a car and came down here for just 4 cents. I think (the IRS) may have a problem with priorities.”
The IRS had no comment citing “privacy and disclosure laws.”
Damn, you can’t make shit like this up!

The reason the IRS goes after these nickel and dime and pennies cases is because most of the affected citizens don’t have the $$$$ or legal wherewithall to fight them. (oops….must hide now…I see those 2 agents walking up to my front door). Remember, Al Capone was finally taken down for tax evasion. You might get away with murder in the USA, butcha better pays yer taxes.
If Palin becomes Prez (or is in line of succession)….I might just have to move to a different country. But that’s just me.

I got in trouble for filing on step children “an illegal’s kids hiding now somewhere in america” and got hit with levy’s put on hold for i crap you not 5 hrs , sit in their main ft. worth office for 6hrs alone LOL ALONE waiting for my number to be called “alone” and was promised it would be taken care of LOL 2yrs ago “still waiting” and now penalties they still haven’t stopped have added up past 17,000 dollars what the ????
The IRS is nothing short of legal organized crime. They extort money out of all of us and its ok. If we/I did what they do we would be doing time. It is without a doubt the biggest group of idiots in this country. LOL, worse than that they have the nerve to say that they are not a ‘government agency” rather a 3rd party collection company for the US government. Right, lol. Today I was told that unless I paid them a penalty on an amount that I have been disputing since 2007, then I can not have my personal tax return. Sorry they gave me the option of waiting for their investigation to be complete. So I can pay it now and get my tax return in as “short as 45 days” or I can wait for the same investigation to get through that started in 07′! That is by definition, extortion. Coercing someone out of money or property for something they dont owe in order to get something in return. Question for everyone, how does an agency like this be stopped? Boston tea party seemed to have worked. I dont know
Well I mailed all my money in for my 2008 taxes but I forgot to mail my s-corp tax statement in and I didnt think it was a big deal because I owed nothing on it. A little time after I mailed it in I get a bill for $1084.69 from the IRS collections for my 2008 S-Corp taxes so I called to see what was going on and they said it was a fine because I didnt mail my tax return in on time even to I owed $0.00 they still found a way to milk me for some money.
Pee on the irs…we should start a war against them. This is OUR country, not those scumballs.
