Dear Justin,
Let me start off by saying that I was able to attend the N.A. premiere of “Fast Five” last night and it was an awesome, action-packed, all-out crazy, fun ride of a movie and you deserve all the success and kudos you get.
But I think that we need to start sending out a more conscientious message to movie-going kids today. So here’s my suggestion for “Fast 6”. How about electric car racing? After all, we really need to save the environment and stop our dependence on Middle East oil.

I know I know. The cars will be Not So Fast and Not So Furious. The movie could be called “Green and Somewhat Angry”. Instead of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, it could star Ed Begley Junior and Tom Hanks in the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt.

Sung can still look suave on a bicycle:

Sure, they won’t be able to make a lot of noise revving their motors. But you could just show them cranking up their bad-ass, custom, electric generators and as the silence ensues, cue the music to “Flight of the Bumblebee”?
So the Leaf’s top speed is 90 mph while the Volt’s is 100, and well, the Leaf only has a range of about 70-miles so the chase scenes can’t be too fast or too long, but I’m sure you can work it out.
Am I on to something? Have your people call my people.

At least the leaf is all electric unlike the fake electric car that is the volt. It does use gas…oh and people for some reason or another in america like their roaring engines. Quick solution, get a recording of a motor. But really we should go to electric, we just need better batteries b/c the current range on those cars is too short
You sly devil you – you probably had this post ready all this time! ;D
two words: Telsa Roadster
Sung can put a playing card against the spokes of his bicycle to make a motor noise! :p
[...] AN OPEN LETTER TO JUSTIN LIN: [...]
1 HUGE advantage with electric motors = INSTANTANEOUS BOOST/”torque”. No “delay/waiting”.
They’d be good for sneaking up on people too.
Hmmmmm……pony-up your Prius as a testbed/stunt car.
Although the sneaking up on ppl isnt always a good thing. Because of the lack/less sound those who are blind might not hear an electric car coming. Ending in a car crash.
Great acceleration on those cars though.
we wrecked more than 200 cars in F5. that’s more than 200 gas guzzling cars we took off the street. that’s green right?
Did you get a federal tax credit? You should have!
Jerome, you’re actually the one who got me to post a blog.
Justin, 200 cars!! If all that scrap metal is being reused to create one ginormous tank for TERMINATOR, then that would certainly be ecofriendly.
Hello The-Main-Man-Justin!
Whew! It’s been forever since I posted on this wonderful site. My post is late, but I saw FF5 opening night. My friend and I came like 15 min before the movie started, but alas there were no decent seats left, theatre was packed to capacity so we had to sit up front a.k.a almost inside the movie!
I’m a fan of all the FF’s. I loved the opening, it grabbed my attention immediately and from there on the movie only got better, never a dull moment. I couldn’t help myself when Sung Kang came on the screen. I did yell, “SUUUUUNNNNGGG KAAAAAANNNNGGGG”! Once I did I realized it was too late to hide under my movie chair, loool.
You guys really surprised me with that bank vault scene, omg, it was awesome. Tyrese was insanely funny…..”sounds like a whole lot of vaginal activity to me” lmao! And I definitely enjoyed the power the women had in the movie. I don’t think too many people talk about, but I enjoyed it. Nothing like an attractive lady brandishing guns and being an integral part of the daily operations ( I do fantasize myself brandishing a gun and riding off into the sunset, lol)
So an-tee-hoose, I really enjoyed FF5, Justin, thanks a bunches of oats, you kept me on the edge of my seat, love ya!
