I read this on boingboing a few months ago and wanted to share with you this very cool photography project by famed photographer Kyle Cassidy. This very cool project captures science fiction and fantasy writers in their “nest” or conclave where they create and write. Sometimes this creative space is simply a sparse desk and a laptop but mostly, they’re actual nests of papers, books, and masterful creative dwellings caused by entropy.
You can check out this very cool photo project at the official website. Since fellow Offender Phil is our resident writer by trade, maybe he should upload a photo of his writer’s nest in a future post?

They should do one on filmmaker’s nests, too. I recently happened by a certain famous filmmaker’s workspace which was plastered with bizarre, fascinating, and often grotesque photos and pictures wall-to-wall. (Not cool and kitschy international movie posters like in Ryoo Seung-wan’s office!) This auteur’s workspace reminded me of one of those obsessive stalker/killers’ hidden rooms in CSI or the like. Only it had a stunning variety of subject matter, and computers instead of melted candles in front of everything.
that dude looks like Santa Clause
as for phil, i imagine his writer’s nest to be one thick with naked, intellectual strippers and endless bottles of overflowing whisky.
Yeah, not sure my writer’s nest is suitable for unedited public viewing.
I wonder how Phil keeps all his papers dry….
lol @ beverly
Nice project. Perhaps Part II will focus on the creative enclaves of non-Caucasian fantasy and sci-fi scribes.
That would be awesome. There is definitely a serious lacking of minority representation in the sci-fi and fantasy literary genre.
