He has dystonia that has effected his mobility and his speech... he can barely walk and talk. He still lives alone but he is severely limited... and it's very hard to understand him sometimes. I asked him, once, if his situation left him any anger or depression. He said he was the happiest that he had ever been. Steve is somewhat of a philosopher. He's learned to appreciate his life and his situation and the things he CAN still do. His mind is so sharp... much sharper than most people of my acquaintance... and he's truly learned to adapt and be thankful. The times he falls, he doesn't try to fob off any embarrassment... he doesn't seem to feel it is a weakness. He just accepts help and is appreciative that it is offered. He is one of the only people I truly look up to... he is extraordinary and clearly the only good thing about my adoption. lol. My brother, Steve, is like that man.
