Regular readers of this blog know that the Japanese sometimes have a perverse take on things, but I have to say I don’t think I’ve come across anything that’s quite as disturbing than the video you’ll see below.
As far as I can tell, this clip is from some Japanese children’s show. A little girl and her furry friends seem to be singing about the fun of…well, being abducted, held hostage and abused/tortured. According to the English subtitles, the song contains such kid-friendly lyrics as:
He forces me to wash him.
Oxygen deprivation!
He guides me to the stirrups.
I pray for death’s release.
Punitive spanking.
I am bleeding internally.
As well as the aforementioned chorus of:
In his cellar, I am chained to a radiator.
Now, I want to believe that either the English subtitles accompanying this clip are completely incorrect and some sort of joke or that this video has been taken out of context in a way that makes it seem worse than it is. So if anyone can shed some light on what’s going on here, please do let me know. Otherwise, check out the clip here:

I didn’t watch the entire thing, but basically, the girl is talking about holding hands with big penguins and little penguins. Guess someone was bored enough to interpret body language.
On the flipside, i’m in japan right now and took a picture of a funny product: crunky ball nude. I’ll send it to you soon.
sick. in other news: In Koreatown LAPD officers have handcuffed a drunk vagrant at 6th and Western, in front of the pet store… Peerip?
Ha ha ha that was awesome. . . um no.
someone just put in funny subtitles. the song is actually about holding hands with penguins. if you listen to the ‘chorus’ part you can hear ‘pa pa pi pi penguin penguin’ but the subtitle says ‘in his cellar i’m chained to a radiator’.
The show is a very popular kid’s show called ‘inai inai ba’ on NHK and can be seen on TV Japan via Satellite.
Its the equivalent of putting subtitles like this on “Sesame Street”, which isn’t as funny because we all understand what they are saying.
Mostly pretty funny considering how innocent and rather cute it is without the captions. Not sure about the stirrups part. That suggests something a little unseemly. In fairness, they do say,”butt!” while…uh…touching little girl butt on big, scary, penguin butt.
On second look, that’s not a big, scary penguin at all. It’s a big, scary dog. She’s touching dog butt!
